Dave's Proceeds are Donated to St. Jude's - His Expenses are His Alone.

BIO

Holly Springs artisan, Dave Lovell began working with clay over 30 years ago while living in Arizona.  A friend of his was a potter and that friend taught Dave the fundamentals of throwing a pot and working up clay and Dave became hooked.  Over a period of time he became good enough to know that his trips to annual festivals and mall craft shows were guaranteed to mean  a sell-out of handmade pots and pretties.

When he moved to Holly Springs some 20 years ago or so, life's circumstances made him put his pots on the back burner and eventually he got rid of his pottery wheel to make room in his garage for his gardening equipment.  Happily, he held onto his kiln and 50 or so pounds of clay.

After retirement, while cleaning out that same garage, he came across those 50 pounds of clay and decided to reconstitute them in the bathtub and work them up and have a go at handbuilding and he hasn't stopped.  His results have been fantastical.

With the drop in the stock market and diminishing returns, Dave fretted that he wouldn't be able to continue to support one of his favorite charities -The St Jude's Childrens Hospital, so as his handbuilt pottery was sprouting up as fast as well......mushrooms on a hot & humid Georgia summer night, he decided to look for outlets, such as Wild Cat On A Wing in Ball Ground Georgia, to sell his work so that he could donate the proceeds to St Jude's.  All of the money he brings in he donates to St Jude's-his expenses are his alone.

Dave will be participating in some upcoming art shows, if you would like to know when and where they will be held, contact Dave at the link above and he will keep you updated.
